We have made it to the first weekend! Things haven't exactly been busy, but we have been having a lot of fun. While still sunny, we went on scooter rides to the playground and played hockey outside. Since it cooled down a bit, we have gone to the library, fed the ducks, watched Star Wars for the first time and done some art. Zack has just recently started to draw more than scribbles. In fact, The picture of the face with a beard was the first person he has ever drawn! But do not be fooled into thinking it is a beard! It is not. That is the shirt. And the two lines underneath? Those are his legs! It's really cool how little kids interpret things when they draw. Of course, Zack drew a picture of me - I think he nailed the hair! Jon drew a couple pictures as well and it shocks me how much better at art he is than I was at his age and older. Practice makes perfect I guess, and he is drawing all the time! I hope you are all having a fun time on your break. Including the rest of today - 10 days left!!! See you all soon!

It feels like a real Spring Break for me now. The weekend just felt like a weekend. Monday felt like maybe a long weekend. Today I noticed that things were really different. I'm not doing anything too major, or going anywhere fancy, but am definitely enjoying some free time. I'm really just hoping to enjoy the extra time to play around with my boys. We have had some extra playground time and have visited with some friends - just things we never really have enough time to do normally. I've started teaching Jon (my oldest) how to play Super Mario games. We started with Super Mario Brothers for the Wii, mainly for reason that we can all play at the same time (and the surprise bonus feature that I can use Mario to pick up other characters, so I can carry Jon through the harder parts of some of the levels). Not too sure about what we will do for the rest of the break, but I will keep you posted. How have the first few days been treating all of you? Any ideas for things I should do with Jonny and Zack?
An amazing day was had yesterday at Mount Seymour. We tobogganed on magic carpets and snowshoed through the forest trails. It was a hard work, but loads of fun! More photos in the Pictures section.
Our field trip to Science World yesterday was fabulous! We started with a Science Lab where we designed and created various fans to be used to produce wind energy. In the afternoon, we watched an Omni-Max Amazon feature. Mixed in between and after these two activities, we had lots of time to explore the various areas, including the new Ripley's Believe It or Not exhibit. A fun time was had by all! More photos are posted in the Pictures section.

Welcome Students and Parents of Division 7!
I hope that this will be a place where we can better open the lines of communication between myself, the students and the parents/guardians. I also hope to use this space as part of my general encouragement to use various forms of technology to help us learn in different and meaningful ways.
