With my trip to Edmonton/Penticton long over with and after now having a chance to rest and recharge (two weddings, in two days, in two different provinces is tiring!), I am really starting to get into a good rhythm for summer.
I've been taking Jonny and Zack swimming a couple of times a week and we are making lots of trips to the park. We also spend a lot of time in the backyard playing on Jonny's little climbing gym and splashing around in his little blow up pool. Zack can crawl fast now and has no problem standing. We are working on walking while we hold on to things for support. He wants to learn fast so he can chase his big brother!
I've had a little time for me as well, which as been nice. I am currently re-watching the cartoon series Avatar: the Last Airbender. It is one of my favourites. I have been riding my exercise bike and watching a few episodes each night after the kids are in bed. I'm also reading a few graphic novels. Currently I am reading a Guardians of the Galaxy story that is a lot of fun to read. I hope you are all still reading every night as well ;)
I tend to get bored in the summer, so I usually have to fill some time with a larger project of some sort. Two summers ago I re-did our backyard. Last summer I re-did the laundry room. This summer I am going full out and redoing our kitchen. I made a design, ordered the cabinets in the sizes that we needed and am looking forward to installing everything at the end of August (after we go camping and I help my dad drive a car to Arizona - but more on those things another time). We also got a new fridge, stove and dishwasher, which will make my wife very happy when they arrive next week. Hopefully it all turns out well and I get everything done before we are back at school.
I will try to post more now that I am settled into summer mode. My goal is at least once a week. Feel free to comment! I have also visited all of your pages and commented on all of your most recent posts - which for most of you was the one you did on the last week of school. Feel free to write about your summer on your websites or in the comments here. As promised, I have also included some shots of our Mentos and Diet Coke experiment from the last day of school.
ENJOY!
