Welcome Students and Parents of Division 7!

I hope that this will be a place where we can better open the lines of communication between myself, the students and the parents/guardians. I also hope to use this space as part of my general encouragement to use various forms of technology to help us learn in different and meaningful ways.

A Late Christmas Post

Whoa! That first week went by super fast! Sorry I didn't get a chance to post on Christmas Day, or any day there after. I have had a lot of family over at my house. They are all just starting to fly home now to greet in the new year in their home provinces, so I am finally able to post a few pictures!
Christmas was a lot of fun, especially with how excited the boys get. I think with all the family around, they got spoiled a bit, but I am sure that they have no problem with that. I made Christmas Dinner for 12 people at my house and was pretty proud of the result. I like cooking and, with so many people around, I didn't have to do any dishes! Win-Win!
With Christmas over, it seems New Year's is next on the holiday agenda! Have a fun time staying up late! See you all in a week!!!

Pre-Christmas Family Skate

With today being Monday, I suppose today is the first "official" day of winter break. Of course, we didn't wait to get started on holiday things and family until today. Yesterday, we met up with my family to go for a pre-Christmas skate. On the left is my best friend Greg with his 3 girls and his Dad behind them. Then my sister Lindsey, my brother in law, Chris and my nephew, Emmerson. Next to me are my dad and mom, with Jon and Zack in front of us. My wife Alicia, who wouldn't skate, took the picture for us.
Do any of you skate? Spolier alert: you will in January! (Field Trip is already booked!)

Winter Break is Here

First of all, thank you to all the students and families for the gifts today. Not necessary, but very much appreciated. Definitely made my day. Thank you very much!

Second, I was so happy to see so many of you at the Winter Concert performances yesterday. The class worked very hard under the tutelage of Ms. Baker and I was very proud of the final product. Photos and Videos of all three performances are up in the Pictures section.

Finally, Winter Break is upon us. I know I will be spending lots of fun time with family, but also hope I find some time to rest a bit. My hope for all of you is that you also have a fun and relaxing break and come back in January recharged and ready to go! I'll be updating the website over the break, so feel free to spot by and see what I am up to! Try to take some pictures from your winter break. If you can post 5-10 to your website, or email them to mackenziedragons@gmail.com we will use them for a mini-project in January.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays! See you all on Monday, January 7th!
