First, I need to thank all of the students and their families for such an amazing turn out for our conferences last week. Everyone was able to make it in, which was a first for me! It was a real pleasure to meet everyone and have a little discussion. Although I am sure that I said it a lot at the conferences, if anyone needs to get a hold of me or wants to meet with me at any non-conference time, just write me a note either through the contact portion of this website, or through the agenda and we can set up a date/time, or I can try to answers back in the agenda or via email if it is just a quick question.
Second, the school has a new website which it will be using for school wide news. The new website address is: http://go.vsb.bc.ca/schools/mackenzie I have changed the link on our website, so that it can take you directly there. Online versions of the school newsletter, The Mackenzie Buzz, and other school posts and information will be made available to you there. Finally, we are ramping up for Halloween here in Division 11. Our lanterns are underway and should be finished before the 31st. We will have a party in the afternoon on Halloween after what I am assuming will be a unique P.E. class complete with costumes. Students are encouraged to come dressed up on Halloween, but reminded not to bring anything that could constitute or resemble a weapon (regardless of how cheesy and plastic it might actually be). If I have missed anything, or you have any questions, please feel free to comment below and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Happy (almost) Halloween, Mr. Martin Jonny finished his art homework tonight! Hopefully all of you will put in your best effort as well to get your cartoon art done for Tuesday! I look forward to seeing them!
Congratulations to the Mackenzie Cross Country team, especially those in Division 11, who competed in the district meet at Trout Lake today! After such a short season, you all put in an incredible effort at this tough race, which had over 200 competitors in both the grade 4 boys and girls races. Great Job!
A great showing by Division 11 at the cross country meet today. The six members of the team from our class ran an excellent race! We even ended up having students winning both the grade four boy and girl races! Excellent job. Proud teacher/coach here!

Welcome Students and Parents of Division 7!
I hope that this will be a place where we can better open the lines of communication between myself, the students and the parents/guardians. I also hope to use this space as part of my general encouragement to use various forms of technology to help us learn in different and meaningful ways.
