The International Feast was a HUGE success. Special thanks to all the parents/students for preparing/bringing dishes and to Ms. Bakken and her grade 7 class for organizing this fun day. More photos are up in the Pictures section. Enjoy!

The International Feast is tomorrow (Wednesday, November 25th).
I will break down all the things that you should know here as best I can. If you have any further questions, you can comment on this post and I will reply as soon as I can. First, Each student needs to bring a plate, knife and fork. We are trying to go green and limit the paper plates and plastic cutlery, so if everyone brings from home, we can reduce the waste. I recommend putting your name and division on your things (maybe with tape) just in case they get lost. Second, Everyone should be bringing some form of a dish to share. The dish will be brought to the classroom in the morning and kept in here until set up begins around recess time. Parents who want to bring dishes hot from home for the start can bring them to the school between 10:45-11:00. For those bringing things at the beginning of the day that will need to be warmed up, a crew of grade 7 students will be reheating some dishes around that same 10:45-11:00 time. If the dish/serving spoon/etc that you are bringing to school is something that you want returned to you, it MUST have your name on it somewhere. I'll try to take some pictures to post on the website of some of the food and fun! Please comment below if there are any last minute questions and I will answer back as soon as I can (usually within an hour or better). It has been a whirlwind day, but so much fun! Zack is officially 1 year old and had a great birthday! I attached a photo as promised and now look forward to finishing clean up and going to sleep. See you all tomorrow!

Welcome Students and Parents of Division 7!
I hope that this will be a place where we can better open the lines of communication between myself, the students and the parents/guardians. I also hope to use this space as part of my general encouragement to use various forms of technology to help us learn in different and meaningful ways.
