Congratulations to the division 7 cross country members. They have completed two mini-meets so far and are performing well! I hope to get a picture of the girls next week - if they don't run away after their race again!

The class had a great Terry Fox Run this Thursday. We were also responsible for collecting donations and, I am happy to report, that as a school we smashed our original donation goal. We had hoped to collect $500 for the Terry Fox Foundation, but instead managed to collect over $800! Great work Division 7 and Mackenzie!
Despite the weather forecast calling for a ZERO percent chance of rain, a small monsoon hit the class during our morning run. Everyone survived, but got soaked! Since we were already wet, we figured we might as well take a class photo. You know it is raining hard when you can see the ran in the picture!
Welcome to all parents and students. Classes officially switched today and I couldn't be happier with the new group of students I received. I am still learning names and learning more about students and look forward to meeting families in the near future. Meet the Teacher night is on September 21 and I hope to talk with some parents then. If you would like to see me sooner just to introduce yourself you can pop by the classroom (222). If you need a longer chat, contact me using the form on this website or the student agenda and we can set up a time.
I look forward to meeting you all in the near future and having a great grade 4 year! Well....3 days left until back to school...That certainly went faster than expected. I guess I didn't post as much as I had originally planned. Got caught up in the fun! After Our Oregon Road trip we rested for a bit before another LONG road trip. We went to Dinosaur Provincial Park where we toured the Badlands and went on a fossil dig. Next stop was Drumheller to visit the Royal Tyrell Museum before heading to Edmonton to visit with some of my wife's family (and go to the zoo!). After we returned, we celebrated Jon's 5th birthday at Go Bananas. We visited many playgrounds and the beach quite a bit. Had a fun time at the PNE and I got to take Jon skating with his full hockey gear on for the first time. The green jersey he is wearing is my jersey from my first hockey team when I started playing at 5 years old - just like him! Pretty cool. Can't wait to hear about all of your adventures. See you all on Tuesday! |

Welcome Students and Parents of Division 7!
I hope that this will be a place where we can better open the lines of communication between myself, the students and the parents/guardians. I also hope to use this space as part of my general encouragement to use various forms of technology to help us learn in different and meaningful ways.
