I have spent a good portion of the first week of Spring Break visiting with family in Arizona. I went to a baseball game, had burgers, went swimming and have had lots of fun. I hope you are having a great time on your breaks as well!
I hope everyone has a fun and relaxing Spring Break. I'll be jetting off to Arizona to visit my family and will definitely check in here with some pictures and updates.
Now, the Homework for over spring break:
1.) Study your times tables. Division starts when we get back and you still need your multiplication skills.
2.) Read every day
3.) I would like you to e-mail one picture from your spring break to firstname.lastname@example.org please (Not uploaded to your website, please email, or have a parent email to that address). I want this to be a picture of a place from your spring break and I do not want you, or other people in the picture this time around. If there are background people, that is ok, but I want the focus to be on the place, which we will be able to talk about how it was a part of your spring break later ;)
That's it! Have an awesome break and I'll see you all in 2 weeks!
PS, Thanks for the pizza, Reilly!
This Winter break just hasn't seemed like much of a break for me this year. BUSY! BUSY! BUSY! The past few days have all been devoted to Jonny's first hockey tournament in Richmond where we are playing teams outside of South Delta (where we live and play) for the very first time. At his age level, it's not super competitive, but, as a coach, it is fun for me to see how our group stacks up against others from other areas and if the lessons I've been giving my team have been sticking. So far, I am very happy with the results. We haven't lost a game (we have played Vancouver, New West and a Richmond team), but still have one more this evening. Hopefully it goes well.
I am slowly seeing homework trickle in. I suppose that is to be suspected. I haven't checked on actual websites, so it is possible that more have finished and I will find that out tomorrow at school, but as of right now, I have received emails with pictures from 4 students. Again, the total could be much higher than 4, as you are allowed to upload the photos directly to your website and publish them there if you would like. We will get the full count tomorrow and see who still needs to get this done then. So:
Please send your 5-10 pictures from the holiday to email@example.com as soon as possible - or upload them to your website. We are not starting the project on the first day back, but it will be in the first week for sure.
Hopefully you are well rested and ready to go tomorrow! I can't wait to hear about everything you go up to over the break and to get back down to work!
This Blog will provide updates on what is happening in the classroom, as well as a small peak into the life of the teacher outside of school.
Welcome Students and Parents of Division 7!
I hope that this will be a place where we can better open the lines of communication between myself, the students and the parents/guardians. I also hope to use this space as part of my general encouragement to use various forms of technology to help us learn in different and meaningful ways.
