Welcome Students and Parents of Division 7!

I hope that this will be a place where we can better open the lines of communication between myself, the students and the parents/guardians. I also hope to use this space as part of my general encouragement to use various forms of technology to help us learn in different and meaningful ways.

iRide Cycling Program

The iRide bicycle program will be running at Mackenzie next week. Our class has the 9:30-10:30 time slot for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Bicycles and helmets are supplied, but if you have your own, they can be brought to school. Bicycles can be locked in the areas provided surrounding the school. Should bringing the bike be too difficult, bringing just a helmet is fine and a bike can be provided, or both can be provided if needed.

Waivers must be completed by all students to participate. At last check point, 5 students had yet to complete the waiver (James, Janelle, Taran, Abeer, and Thuan). The waiver must be completed online, or you will not be able to participate. The website address for the waiver is:

http://www.cyclingbc.net/iridewaiver

The program is In-School. The area is Greater Vancouver. The school district is #39. The teacher is Martin.

Hopefully we get some nice weather and have a fun week!

The hybrids use multiple speeds, generally with a wide range of speeds that facilitates the climbs and allows a good speed on flat terrain.
